Message Exodus from the hotel

See ya, Omni Mandalay! You've been good to us.

Heading to the IHOP for breakfast

Waiting for a table

On the way out

Hittin' the road behind Scott, for a brief while

The southern TX group split off, then the CA group, and the Northeast Contingent was on our own again. Beautiful day for a long drive:

We got east of Nashville before seeking out a hotel. Let me assure you, the "Vista" was not nearly as scenic as its name suggests. I really should have gotten a shot of the bathroom, but that wouldn't have accurately conveyed the cheapness of the plastic toilet. Yep, all except the bowl. This was nicely accented by the crumbling tile grout and the rust stain below the faucet in the tub.

No quality motel parking lot is complete without spare lumber and a vegetable garden for the residents:

Tennessee mountains:

Adam caught up to us just past Knoxville after visiting relatives the day before and then being delayed by a paper plate truck fire

Clouds rolling in...

A bit of rain; luckily short-lived - that's Bernie in front of me:

Virginia mountains after the rain:

D'oh, traffic. :-P

And the unfortunate cause:

QuickStop

We lost Adam somewhere a few hours out as he took off like a horse that sees the barn ahead; then Spee stopped to say hi to some relatives, and then it was down to just Bernie and me.

Then the sun went down and put a stop to my picture-taking.

I hope you enjoyed my travelogue; I know I enjoyed reliving the experience to make it. This'll have to hold me over till I see you all next year, but I had a blast, and just have to say once more that you guys are awesome! I'm really glad to have been able to meet so many more of you in person - that is always one of the highlights of these gatherings. 8)
